Point, Line, Space

A curve you never draw: straight lines, spaced evenly between two edges, leave a curved edge behind them.
Draw only straight lines and a curve still appears. Space the lines evenly between two edges and the places where they crowd together read as a smooth curved edge that no single line ever follows.
The three studies below are made the same way: pick points on two edges, join them in order, and stop. Scroll to draw each one line by line.

Corner
Evenly spaced points down the left edge are joined, in order, to evenly spaced points along the bottom edge. Each line is straight; the curve is the edge they leave behind.
Wing
Two mirrored sets of lines meet at the centre. Doubling the corner study gives a shape like the line of a roof.

Fan
Here a single point reaches a row of points and then a column of points: point, then line, then space.

From lines to a surface
The same idea carried into three dimensions: a twisted surface made only of straight lines. Drag it to look around, or scroll to turn it.
